Taxonomy
Scalpellum (Arcoscalpellum) complanatum was named by Withers (1924). Its type specimen is AR820, an other, and it is a 3D body fossil.

It was recombined as Arcoscalpellum complanatum by Withers (1953); it was recombined as Graviscalpellum complanatum by Buckeridge (1983).
