Scalpellum (Arcoscalpellum) dunni was named by Chapman and Crespin (1928). Its type specimen is O14081, an other, and it is a 3D body fossil.

It was recombined as Arcoscalpellum dunni by Withers (1953); it was recombined as Graviscalpellum dunni by Buckeridge (1983).
