Taxonomy

Paradoxothyris was named by Xu (1978) [Sepkoski's age data: Tr]. Its type is Paradoxothyris cyclis.

It was assigned to Terebratulida by Sepkoski (2002); and to Angustothyrididae by Williams et al. (2006).

Synonyms

Arcosarina was named by Jin et al. (1979) [Sepkoski's age data: Tr u Sepkoski's reference number: ZR81].

It was synonymized subjectively with Paradoxothyris by Williams et al. (2006).

It was assigned to Terebratulida by Sepkoski (2002).
