Taxonomy
Trigonodus extraordinarius was named by Jelen (1989). Its type specimen is Univerze Edvarda Kardelja 3558 and is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is ZCK54, western quarry, Lesno Brdo, which is in a Julian lagoonal/restricted shallow subtidal wackestone in Slovenia.
