Taxonomy
Actinastrea nathani was named by Kühn (1965). It is not extant. Its type locality is Holzbach, which is in a Langhian/Serravallian marine marl/sandstone in Germany.

It was recombined as Astrocoenia nathani by Kiessling (2014).
