Cathayxyela extensa
Taxonomy
Cathayxyela extensa was named by Wang et al. (2014). Its type specimen is CNU-HYM-NN2012106, an exoskeleton, and it is a compression fossil. Its type locality is Daohugou (CNU 2012 collection), which is in a Callovian/Oxfordian lacustrine - large shale in the Daohugou Formation of China. It is the type species of Cathayxyela.
