Taxonomy
Ogunichthys triangularis was named by Alvarado-Ortega and Brito (2010). It is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is Ogunichthys triangularis Holotype Quarry, which is in a Cretaceous lagoonal horizon in the Marizal Formation of Brazil. It is the type species of Ogunichthys.
