Saurocetus gibbesii

Taxonomy
Saurocetus gibbesii was named by Agassiz (1848). Its type specimen is MCZ, a tooth, and it is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is Woodstock Station, which is in a Rupelian marine marl in the Ashley Formation of South Carolina. It is the type species of Saurocetus.

It was recombined as Zeuglodon gibbesii by Trouessart (1898).
