Taxonomy
Mesoprosopon triasinum was named by Stolley (1914). It is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is Siriuskogel, near Ischl, which is in a Sevatian carbonate limestone in the Halstatt Formation of Austria. It is the type species of Mesoprosopon.
