Taxonomy
Mytilus (Pharomytilus) glendayi was named by Weir (1929). Its type specimen is S. 3572 and is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is Dakatch (Juba Limestone), which is in an Oxfordian carbonate limestone in the Juba Limestone Formation of Somalia.
