Pseudorostranteris was named by Glushenko (1975) [Sepkoski's age data: P Wc Sepkoski's reference number: 538]. Its type is Pseudorostranteris schebelinkaensis.

It was assigned to Terebratulida by Sepkoski (2002); and to Notothyrididae by Williams et al. (2006).
