Loxonema roessleri was named by Geinitz (1852). It is a 3D body fossil.

It was recombined as Chemnitzia roessleri by Howse (1857) and Kirkby (1857); it was recombined as Turbonilla roessleri by Geinitz (1861); it was recombined as Zygopleura roessleri by Dietz (1911) and Pattison et al. (1973).
