Amphidora osculans was named by LeConte (1851). It is extant. It is the type species of Cratidus.
It was recombined as Eleodes osculans by Doyen and Miller (1980); it was recombined as Eleodes (Cratidus) osculans by Bousquet et al. (2018) and Bouchard et al. (2021).
