Taxonomy
Siberiothyris was named by Dagys (1968) [Sepkoski's age data: K Berr K Haut Sepkoski's reference number: 538]. Its type is Siberiothyris crassus.

It was assigned to Terebratulida by Sepkoski (2002); and to Boreiothyrididae by Williams et al. (2006).
