Taxonomy
Heteroscytina tillyardi was named by Evans (1956). Its type specimen is UQ C691, a tegmen, and it is an impression. Its type locality is Mount Crosby Insect Bed (UQ collection), which is in a Norian pond shale in Australia.
It was recombined as Hexascytina tillyardi by Dong et al. (2014).
