Popovus pygmaeus
Taxonomy
Progonus pygmaeus was named by Popov (1986). Its type specimen is PIN 3152/4223, an exoskeleton, and it is a compression fossil. Its type locality is Myangad locality, Section 221/17, which is in an Aptian lacustrine mudstone in the Gurvan-Eren Formation of Mongolia. It is the type species of Progonus, Popovus.
It was recombined as Popovus pygmaeus by Özdikmen and Demir (2007) and Dong et al. (2014).
