Taxonomy
Liotia washingtoniana was named by Squires and Goedert (1995). Its type specimen is LACMIP 12339, a shell, and it is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is CSUN Loc. 1567 - Garrard Creek [Crescent/McIntosh Fm transition], which is in a Bartonian marine mudstone in Washington.
