Taxonomy
Pseudopulex tanlan was named by Gao et al. (2014). Its type specimen is CNU-SIP-LL2013002, an exoskeleton, and it is a compression fossil. Its type locality is Dawangzhangzi, Lingyuan City (CNU collection), which is in a Barremian lacustrine - large shale in the Yixian Formation of China.
