Taxonomy
Trigonithyris was named by Muir-Wood (1935) [Sepkoski's age data: J Call J Oxfo Sepkoski's reference number: 882,1066]. It is not extant. Its type is Trigonithyris eruduwensis. It is the type genus of Trigonithyrididae.
It was assigned to Terebratulida by Sepkoski (2002); and to Trigonithyrididae by Williams et al. (2006).
