Taxonomy
Eckfeldapis electrapoides was named by Lutz (1993). Its type specimen is NHM PE 1992/614, an exoskeleton, and it is a compression fossil. Its type locality is Eckfeld Maar (NHMN 1992 collection), which is in a MP 13 crater lake siltstone/shale in the Eifel Formation of Germany.
It was recombined as Electrapis (Electrapis) electrapoides by Engel (1998); it was recombined as Electrapis electrapoides by Wappler (2003); it was recombined as Electrapis (Eckfeldapis) electrapoides by Engel (2021).
