Xenorina was named by Cooper (1989) [Sepkoski's age data: J Bath-m J Call-m Sepkoski's reference number: 877]. It is not extant. Its type is Xenorina ovata.

It was assigned to Terebratulida by Sepkoski (2002); and to Eudesiidae by Williams et al. (2006).
