Dicerobairdia elegans was named by Kollmann (1963). Its type specimen is GBA/0175, a test, and it is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is Loc. 22 - Segen-Saß-Schact, which is in a Tuvalian carbonate limestone in Austria.
