Diagnosis
ReferenceDiagnosis
A. Williams 1951Exterior.--Subquadrate, unequally biconvex, the dorsal valve more so than the ventral, accentuated by the very strong median dorsal fold and the complementary ventral sulcus ; ornamented by 28 costae and strongly developed concentric lamellae. Delthyrium closed except apically by a deltidium bearing a median, acutely triangular fold.

Ventral interior.--Teeth widely set, simple, supported by short but strong dental plates. Muscle scars obscure. Plug of the apical foramen preserved as a short curved rod situated at the apical end of the umbo.

Dorsal interior.--Notothyrial platform absent, cardinal process massive, forked ; brachial processes well developed, divergent ; teeth sockets small. Adductor muscle scar rather obscure except for the curved antero-lateral ridges of the posterior adductors.
