Taxonomy
Meekella sparsiplicata was named by He and Shi (2014). Its type specimen is CUG DP-2-348, a valve (dorsal valve), and it is a mold. Its type locality is Dongpan section, bed 2, Fusui County, which is in a Changhsingian basinal (siliceous) chert/mudstone in the Dalong Formation of China.
