Taxonomy
Analocaspis ursina was named by Owens (1970). Its type specimen is PMO 8701 (nearly complete internal mould) and is a 3D body fossil.

It was recombined as Rorringtonia ursina by Owens (1981) and Jell and Adrain (2002).
