Taxonomy
Pamirotheca was named by Dagys (1974) [Sepkoski's age data: Tr Nori Tr Rhae Sepkoski's reference number: 538,1066]. Its type is Pamirotheca aulacothyridiformis. It is the type genus of Pamirothecinae.

It was assigned to Thecideida by Sepkoski (2002); and to Pamirothecinae by Williams et al. (2006).
