Taxonomy
Adelges (Adelges) balticus was named by Wegierek (2003). Its type specimen is ME 14699, an exoskeleton, and it is an inclusion in amber. Its type locality is Baltic Amber (Museum Ziemi collection), which is in a Priabonian terrestrial amber in Poland.

It was recombined as Adelges balticus by Heie and Wegierek (2011).
