Pseudogibbirhynchia nuciformis was named by Kamyshan (1973). Its type specimen is No. 6/375 and is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is Pregradnaya (right bank, Murchisonae zone), which is in a Murchisonae carbonate ironstone in the Russian Federation.
