Pseudogibbirhynchia ovata was named by Kamyshan (1973). Its type specimen is No. 6/476 and is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is Between Urup and Bizhgon (Murchisonae), which is in a Murchisonae marine ironstone in the Russian Federation.
