Taxonomy
Hamptonina plicata was named by Babanova (1971). Its type specimen is KSU No. 2357/8 and is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is Karadag, Tumanova Balka (oolitic limestone), which is in a Callovian carbonate limestone in Ukraine.
