Taxonomy
Pecten subulatus was named by Goldfuss (1834).

It was recombined as Chlamys subulata by Melville (1956) and Lee (1984); it was recombined as Camptonectes (Camptonectes) subulatus by Aberhan (1998); it was recombined as Camptonectes subulatus by Damborenea (2002) and Paredes et al. (2013).
