Taxonomy
Buccinum truncatulum was named by Müller (1774). It is extant. It is the type species of Galba.

It was recombined as Lymnaea truncatula by Coope et al. (1961); it was recombined as Galba truncatula by International Commission on Zoological Nomenclature (1998).
