Taxonomy
Aphrodes was named by Curtis (1833). It is extant. It is the type genus of Aphrodinae, Aphrodini.

It was assigned to Jassidae by Coope et al. (1961); and to Aphrodini by Hamilton (1975), Dietrich et al. (2017) and Borodin and Borodina (2021).
