Taxonomy
Carabus globosus was named by Herbst (1784). It is extant.

It was recombined as Dyschirius globosus by Coope et al. (1961), Aalto et al. (1984), Keen et al. (1997) and Green et al. (2006); it was recombined as Dyschiriodes globosus by Tamutis et al. (2011).
