Taxonomy
Chrysomela pyritosa was named by Rossi (1792). It is extant. It is the type species of Neophaedon.

It was recombined as Phaedon (Neophaedon) pyritosus by Coope et al. (1961); it was recombined as Neophaedon pyritosus by Löbl and Smetana (2010).
