Isorophus was named by Foerste (1916) [Sepkoski's age data: O Cara-l S Ludl-l Sepkoski's reference number: 318,319]. It is not extant. It is the type genus of Isorophidae.
It was assigned to Agelacrinitidae by Regnéll (1966); to Isorophida by Sepkoski (2002); and to Isorophidae by Sumrall and Zamora (2011).
