Meristina crassa incipiens was named by Williams (1951). It is a 3D body fossil.

It was recombined as Cryptothyrella crassa incipiens by Williams (1951) and Cocks and Price (1975); it was recombined as Hindella crassa incipiens by Sheehan (1977) and Rong and Li (1999); it was recombined as Hindella incipiens by Williams and Wright (1981) and Cocks (2014).
