Cambraster was named by Cabibel et al. (1958) [Sepkoski's age data: Cm lMid Cm uMid Sepkoski's reference number: 654,805]. It is not extant. Its type is Trochocystites cannati.
It was assigned to Stromatocystitidae by Jell et al. (1985); and to Edrioasteroidea by Sepkoski (2002).
