Platystrophia regularis globata was named by Twenhofel (1928). It is a 3D body fossil. It is the type subspecies of Gnamptorhynchos.
It was recombined as Gnamptorhynchos globatum by Jin and Zhan (2000), Zuykov and Harper (2007) and Jin and Zhan (2008).
