Leptostrophia tenuis antecedens was named by Williams (1951). Its type specimen is SM. A30102, a valve (interior of ventral valve), and it is a 3D body fossil.
It was recombined as Leptostrophia antecedens by Temple (1987); it was recombined as Palaeoleptostrophia antecedens by Cocks (2019).
