Taxonomy
Baridium naviculare was named by Förster (1891). It is a compression fossil. Its type locality is Brunstatt, horizon d1, which is in an Oligocene lacustrine - large marl in France.
It was recombined as Baris naviculare by Legalov (2015) and Poinar and Legalov (2015).
