Taxonomy
Hirsutgerarus saxonicus was named by Zessin (2012). It is an impression. Its type locality is Plötz, near Halle (Trostheide collection), which is in a Stephanian C terrestrial siliciclastic in Germany. It is the type species of Hirsutgerarus.
