Iteravis huchzermeyeri was named by Zhou et al. (2014). Its type specimen is IVPP V18958, a skeleton (A nearly complete, articulated specimen with feather impressions preserved in a single slab in dorsolateral view), and it is a 3D body fossil. It is the type species of Iteravis.
