Taxonomy
Thaumatoblastus was named by Wanner (1924) [Sepkoski's age data: P Asse P Guad-u Sepkoski's reference number: 2,82]. It is not extant. It is considered to be a form taxon. Its type is Thaumatoblastus longiramus.

It was assigned to Phaenoschismatidae by Wanner (1924); and to Fissiculata by Sepkoski (2002).
