Taxonomy
Orthis corpulenta was named by Sardeson (1892).

It was recombined as Dalmanella corpulenta by Schuchert and Cooper (1932); it was recombined as Resserella corpulenta by Wang (1949); it was recombined as Paucicrura corpulenta by Howe (1969).
