Taxonomy
Atrypa recurvirostris was named by Hall (1847). Its type specimen is AMNH 70S.3 and is a 3D body fossil.

It was recombined as Zygospira recurvirostra by Whiteaves (1897); it was recombined as Zygospira recurvirostris by Cooper (1956); it was recombined as Anazyga recurvirostra by Copper (1977); it was recombined as Anazyga recurvirostris by Titus (2007).
