R. C. Hussey 1952 | Shells reach large size. Elongated oval, widest about the middle or slightly anterior to the middle. Sides gently, evenly convex. Anterior margin broadly rounded. Beak blunt. Median septum in the brachial valve narrow towards the beak, broadening and deepening towards the anterior end which extends beyond the mid-line of the shell. Moderately strong concentric lines on the surface and in the cast moderately strong radiating lines towards the front margin. Shell, where preserved, glossy brown. |
