Taxonomy
Stricklandinia melissa was named by Billings (1874) [Stricklandinia Melissa]. Its type specimen is GSC 2581, a shell, and it is a 3D body fossil.

It was recombined as Stricklandia melissa by Bolton (1972); it was recombined as Microcardinalia (Dauphinella) melissa by Jin and Copper (2000).
