Granatocrinus was named as a genus. It is not extant. Its type is Pentatrematites granulatus. It is the type genus of Granatocrinidae.

It was reranked as Pentremites (Granatocrinus) by Meek and Worthen (1865).

It was assigned to Pentremites by Meek and Worthen (1865); to Granatocrinidae by Beaver et al. (1967); and to Spiraculata by Sepkoski (2002).
