Pachyaena ossifraga
Taxonomy
Pachyaena ossifraga was named by Cope (1874) [genotype]. Its type locality is Arroyo Blanco (Cope), which is in a Wasatchian terrestrial horizon in the San Jose Formation of New Mexico. It is the type species of Pachyaena.
It was recombined as Mesonyx ossifragus by Cope (1882); it was recombined as Mesonyx ossifraga by Cope (1885).
